Terms of Service

How using CCAG works

These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Chain & Chisel Artists Guild, including member accounts, the carver directory, the Build the Guild board, competition listings, and paid Guild Membership. The goal is straightforward: keep the platform useful, fair, and respectful for working artists and the wider carving community.

What you are agreeing to

  • You can use CCAG only in lawful, respectful ways, and you are responsible for what happens through your account.
  • The community board is public, we can moderate or remove posts, and IP addresses may be logged for spam prevention.
  • The carver and competition directories are informational resources, not guarantees, endorsements, or promises that listed details are always current.
  • If you post content, you still own it, but you give CCAG permission to display it on the platform.
  • Paid Guild Membership has its own pricing, cancellation, and refund terms described below.

Current account levels

CCAG currently offers free registered accounts, paid Guild Membership, and admin access. Features may change as the platform evolves.

Privacy lives separately

For details about data collection, cookies, waitlist consent, directory sourcing, and retention, read the Privacy Policy.

About Chain & Chisel Artists Guild

Chain & Chisel Artists Guild is a membership-based platform for chainsaw, wood, ice, and stone carvers across North America. We provide tools for discovery, visibility, community participation, and future member services tied to the carving world.

Accounts, security, and membership levels

  • Free / Registered accounts may access available logged-in features such as the gated directory and competition listings.
  • Guild Members may receive additional paid features, including profile/gallery tools, private features, alerts, discounts, and other member benefits offered at the time.
  • Admins manage the platform and moderation systems.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for activity that happens through your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it reasonably current.
  • By creating an account or joining the waitlist, you may receive transactional emails (account verification, password resets, membership receipts) and, where you have opted in, guild update emails. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time using the link in each message or by contacting admin@ccaguild.com.
  • You may request deletion of your account by emailing admin@ccaguild.com. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal retention requirements.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create security risk, abuse other users, or interfere with the platform.

Public-source directory listings

The Carver Directory includes information compiled from publicly available sources. We maintain this directory under our legitimate interest in operating a professional discovery resource for the carving community and related audiences. A listing is not, by itself, a statement of membership, endorsement, affiliation, or consent to be marketed to.

If you want a listing corrected or removed, contact admin@ccaguild.com. We reserve the right to update, limit, or remove directory entries at our discretion.

Build the Guild posting rules

  • Posts to the Build the Guild board are public.
  • We may log your IP address for spam prevention, abuse prevention, and moderation.
  • You may not post harassment, threats, spam, misleading claims, unlawful material, infringing material, or content that harms the community or platform.
  • We may review, moderate, remove, or refuse posts at any time.
  • Early contributors who later join as members may be recognized with a Founding Collaborator badge, but this is not guaranteed and may change.

You keep ownership, but you grant us display rights

You retain ownership of content you submit to CCAG, including text, images, profile material, and other member-submitted content.

By posting or submitting content, you grant CCAG a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on and through the platform in connection with operating, maintaining, and improving CCAG.

You are responsible for making sure your content does not violate another person's rights and does not contain offensive, infringing, deceptive, or unlawful material.

Listings are informational only

Competition listings are provided for general information only. CCAG is not the organizer of listed competitions unless we explicitly say otherwise.

Dates, prizes, fees, deadlines, and event details can change. You are responsible for verifying current details directly with the event organizer before traveling, registering, or spending money.

CCAG accepts no responsibility for travel costs, registration fees, lost income, or other expenses incurred based on competition information listed on this site.

Guild Membership pricing, cancellation, and refunds

Current Guild Membership pricing is listed as $10 per month or $84 per year, unless we change pricing with notice.

You may cancel paid membership at any time, and cancellation should stop future renewals after the end of the current billing period unless we state otherwise at checkout.

Monthly memberships are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time and your access will continue through the end of the current billing period.

Annual memberships are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days, annual fees are non-refundable, but your membership access continues through the end of the paid year.

What belongs to CCAG and what belongs to members

CCAG owns or controls the platform's branding, layout, copy, software, design elements, and other site content, except for content submitted by members or third parties who retain their own rights.

Members retain ownership of their own uploaded or submitted content, subject to the license granted above.

The site is provided as-is

CCAG is provided on an as is and as available basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, complete accuracy, or that all listings, posts, or competition details will always be current, complete, or error-free.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CCAG is not liable for losses arising from reliance on third-party listings, user content, competition details, account misuse, service interruptions, or other site use in excess of the total fees you have actually paid to CCAG in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For free accounts, this cap is zero dollars.

Your responsibility for claims

If your use of the site or content you submit results in a claim, dispute, or legal action against CCAG, you agree to hold CCAG harmless and cover reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from that claim, to the extent permitted by law.

Read the Privacy Policy too

Your use of the site is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and handle information.

We currently use only a strictly necessary session cookie for account authentication. We do not currently run analytics or marketing trackers on the site.

We may update these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If changes are material, we may notify users by email or by posting a clear notice on the site. Continued use of the site after updated terms go live means you accept the revised terms.

Colorado law governs these terms

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in the State of Colorado.
